Who in the Heck is Frank Franker?!

So a couple of weeks ago we got the EXTREME pleasure of hosting Stephanie's brother Brent "Frank Franker" Frame...who was the inspiration behind our decision to come down to Roatan.  It seems that his $10 investment in a Roatan, Honduras T-shirt when he was on a cruise here a number of years ago paid off nicely for the island of Roatan, as it was the catalyst behind our decision to come here for 6 months.  Sorry Brent, no kudos to you, it was all your shirt!  haha.

So we felt it only appropriate that Brent and his family receive a proper fanfare "Roatan Welcome" with a huge sign, balloons, a marching band and jugglers on stilts upon disembarking their cruise ship. Well, the Huge Sign store was closed, the balloons wilted in the heat, the band was hung over and the stilting jugglers were at a benefit to Save the Island Crabs. So we had to settle for writing on paper towels.

The best part was the 1/2 hour before they showed...the strange looks and mumblings of "Who in the heck is Frank Franker?" by the other cruise guests as they walked by. So Fun.

First we brought them back to our humble abode to hang out for a bit and eat fresh pineapple while we gathered a few things for the day's adventures.  Volleyball...check.  Snorkel gear...check.  Baseball bat to scare away all the Island men from swooning at Sarah and her best friend Mariah...dangit.  Where did we keep that bat?  It would've come in handy later...

Mmm Hmmm...look out Island Boys...The Girlz are in da HOUSE...or rather, da water.

Island Boys trying to serenade Sarah and Mariah...

It was nice to have some water time since it was unusually hot that day.  We usually have a nice breeze but of course, not when we have visitors (sorry Cindy!)

This is the hazing that all visitors to Roatan receive that we like to call...THE LEAP.  There is a boat out in the middle of West End Bay that has a ladder that goes up about 20 feet that you can swing from.  Will they pass initiation?

Sarah passed with grace and style....

Here she is on the out swing.....
Brent...not so much.  Haha.
You could see the passengers of the boat scrambling for life vests like members aboard the Titanic as the boat almost capsized.  We were sure we were in for a "Never let go Jack" moment. (In Brent's defense, it does that for most Adult males.)

This is our Roatan Island Limousine...wouldn't travel any other way...

A nice lunch and a game of volleyball at our favorite "off the beaten path" Kismet.  We pretty much had the place all to ourselves, even during Semana Santa, one of the busiest weeks of the year.

And here would be the truckload of Island Boys that stopped traffic so that they could flirt and make kiss kiss noises at Sarah & Mariah.  Apparently that is the official mating call of Island Males. Hilarious.  I think Mariah blew some kisses back at them and sent them all twitter-pated as they drove away...hearts broken.

What a fantastic day with family!  We were so lucky to have them for a day, and grateful they took a day out of their cruise to hang with us.  Frames rock!!  Who's next?  C'mon Down!!
