Tonight we learned the stars, planets, and Milky Way shine so much brighter here on Roatan than anything we have ever seen....it's breathtaking. Stargazing with our astronomer neighbor, Mark out at the end of our dock during one of our sporadic power outages here was so much more entertaining to us than watching the Super Bowl this Sunday evening.
The moon was like a thin Cheshire Cat smile so everything was extra dark as we walked to the end of the long 350 ft dock. Mark also taught us about the glowing phosphorus....the ocean floor lights up with glowing dots when it is agitated. We all jumped up at the same time and landed as the ocean floor lit up as cool as the sky!
We even played a few rounds of cards with our makeshift lanterns. It was a fun night....
